When Running Hurts and Heals

Words fail me after today’s news of the bombings at the finish line of the Boston Marathon.  I wonder, who in the world would want to hurt people like that, and what the point of hurting people who were just there to love on someone, cheer them on, be proud of their accomplishments, or even the person who worked their tail to be able to cross that finish line.

I’ve never run a marathon, let alone one as famous and prestigious as The Boston Marathon.  Honestly, I never desired to run it, but I don’t believe in letting terrorists win.  I don’t know that I’ll ever run it, but as I run here, I’ll be dedicating my runs this week to the victims, the first responders, those who witnessed the terrible moments today.

I pray we all have safety surrounding us in these tough days following.

Edited to add: if you have a race shirt, please consider wearing it tomorrow to support those affected by this tragedy.
